Barneys celebrated Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary

Last november, someone was lucky enough to be in New York right at the time they were celebrating Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary, more specifically when Barneys department store was celebrating it.
After a quick chat, she decided to share pictures she took while there. Thanks JoElle!

If you had the chance to see it too, feel free to leave a comment or share your experience and pictures.

Enjoy!

Folleaboutshoes away for too long and Shoeperwoman challenge

Hello twitterers,

I have been really busy over the last few weeks, juggling with working, studying and mothering my 1 year-old son, which explained my disappearance. God, I miss blogging, reading blogs and reading my fashion magazines!!!!!!!
So what s happened all the time I was away?
  • Oh Yes! JoElle went to NYC  (the lucky cow!) and seen how New York shops were celebrating Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary. BTW, I am still waiting for those pictures!!!
  • The Versace Collection for HandM was released! No time to queue in front of HandM like JoElle and Isa but even though I first had : "We're sorry! We are experiencing large numbers of visitors....."  message on my screen I did manage to get my hands on a few pieces online. Didnr get lucky for the boots I wanted but got a few clothes, so not complaining!
Picture taken by JoElle (HandM Rue de Rennes in Paris)

  • Seen some big titles about John Galliano online shop, Karl Lagerfeld affordable range, what else? I ve been so busy, it looks like I was living in a bubble.
Anyway, I still managed to save 2 pairs of shoes from the shoeperwoman shoe challenge! It's been so cold, I have to count on my winter warmer boots to preserve me from the cold.

Talking about cold, I fancy a nice cup of mulled wine right at this moment, so please excuse me but I won't be long.

Louboutin celebrates 20th anniversary with first retrospective

Louboutin celebrates 20th anniversary with first retrospective
To celebrate 20 years in the luxury shoe industry, Christian Louboutin has announced the launch of its first ever UK retrospective exhibition next year. The show takes place at the Design Museum and will run from March 28-July 1. It includes an in-depth insight into the design process, detailing how the shoe is made from beginning to end with a special focus on the origins of the trademark sole. Visitors also get to find out how the brand approaches sales, store design and marketing, as Louboutin famously does not advertise. Various themes will be highlighted as part of the exhibition, including fairytale, travel, fantasy and the showgirl, alongside a special section featuring the specially-designed shows for the renowned Cartier show in 2007. The Louboutin retrospective is being created by the team behind the interior of Shoreditch House and the Christian Louboutin pop-up at Selfridges.

C.L. David Delfin added on my Wish List

Today I was having trouble with my computer at work. Although I couldn't do any work, I could still browse the net, and what kind of websites a shoeaddict (folleaboutshoes =crazy about shoes)  can visit during her lunchtime? Shoe Shopping of course!!!!

Then the usual happened. I spotted a new pair of shoes, a pair of David Delfin from our favourite shoemaster and shoedesigner, Christain Louboutin.

Classy, Elegant, I could wear them to work with a nice power dress (V.B. style) or  to go out.
At just under £500.00 on net-a-porter,  they are just perfect!!!

Need to go back to work now!!!!!!

Coup de Coeur de la semaine: C. Louboutin Open Lips 120 leather pumps

This week my heart is set on yet another pair of Christian Louboutin, Open Lips 120 leather pumps. I can already picture myself wearing these gorgeoushoes with a nice power dress.

They definitely ROCK! And guess what? They are available in 42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They would be a great addition to my shoeset but unfortunately, I have been learning over the past few months that having a little one is quite expensive, especially when you need to pay for childcare.

Unless I get a very well-paid job very quickly, this gorgeous pair will, once again, remain in my Wish List (sniff, sniff!!).

I need a new pair of shoes to comfort me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Promise, it won't be a designer pair!

I bought a pair of shoes from Mothercare yesterday to my little sunshine, but it ain't the same.

Time to go to bed, sure, I am going to dream about them.

Still debating if I should enter the Shoeperwoman challenge, but it will mean I have to count my shoes (ggrrrrrrr!).

However, even though I could afford them, I am convinced I would never wear them out of my house.

Plastic Shoes

Usually when I hear or read plastic shoes, I think of these awful plastic shoes, that we used to call “mika” in Guadeloupe. It was mainly worn by boys but some parents loved to give their children these ugly shoes to protect their feet when going on the beach. I remember my mother buying me a pair as I was going to the beach with school but I never wore them. Indeed, I cut them as soon as she brought them home. I was already interested in nice shoes and did not want to feel embarrassed and being bullied by anyone at school.

Anyway, when I first receive that newsletter headed “Plastic shoes”, I thought my gosh, what on earth are they going to show me? Meanwhile, as I am not allowed to buy any pair of shoes this month and probably for the next 6 months, I thought a newsletter aiming at disgust me with plastic shoes is not bad, until I had clear look and realised, it was about plastic shoes, yes but plastic shoes that have style.

plastic shoes, yes but plastic shoes that have style.

Do not like all of them but wouldn’t mind the Louboutin ones, especially for the unreliable weather in London.

Looks like designers are converting me into plastic shoes!

Christian Louboutin Pigalle

Added that pair of C. Louboutin Pigalle 120 patent pumps to my wish list this week as I am currently drowning under bills this month, but I just can’t get it out of my head.

Seriously, how often do you see a pair of Christian Louboutin under a £400.00 price? Last time I’ve seen a pair under that price was during the sales in Selfridges, and of course, they did not have my time.

Also, how often, do you find a nice pair of shoes in a size 9 (UK size) or 42 (French)? Not that often, which is why when I find my shoe size in a pair that I like, I have to go for it.

Could order it and have it delivered at work, and left it there for a while (do not want the bloke to see me buying shoes when we have loads of bills to pay and baby stuffs to buy) or say that it was a gift from the office and make sure he never sees my bank statement. Humm! Need to think carefully!

Let’s see the bills again: car insurance renewal, service charges, high phone bill and return trips to Guadeloupe to be paid. Blimey! Did not see the colour of my last paycheck and it looks like it’s going to be the same with the next one.

C. Louboutin's Summer Shoe selection

If you're lucky enough to heading to Saint-Tropez this summer or even to attend the Ascot, you need to have the right pairs at your feet. Anyway! whereever you go, you want people to be looking at your feet for all the right reasons!

Following is our favourite shoemaker and genius, Christian Louboutin of course, recommendations for this summer.

"To always look correct and sexy at the same time”, the master recommends a pair of Fifi. Indeed, this little number will go perfectly with any LBD.

If you are jet-setting to Cannes, your shoes also needs to show that you are there to have fun: “Sandals, Disco Lilou, because a sexy sandals in Cannes is a good sign that you are here also to have fun!” says our Excellence C. Louboutin.

For Summer Wedding or Garden parties: “Macarena- often at garden parties heels sink into the grass so wedges are ideal.”

Can wedges be considered as flat shoes? I am tired of wearing very flat shoes!!

For the Ascot, “The Miss Chacha- because Ascot always needs a bow somewhere” comments the master.

Festivals’ Fans, don’t feel left out! For you, he recommends “The Louis Spike, to run and dance at the Festival!” Glastonbury, here we are!!!

Now that you know what shoes to wear, you just need to find the right outfit for each pair! Enjoy!!
