Plastic Shoes

Usually when I hear or read plastic shoes, I think of these awful plastic shoes, that we used to call “mika” in Guadeloupe. It was mainly worn by boys but some parents loved to give their children these ugly shoes to protect their feet when going on the beach. I remember my mother buying me a pair as I was going to the beach with school but I never wore them. Indeed, I cut them as soon as she brought them home. I was already interested in nice shoes and did not want to feel embarrassed and being bullied by anyone at school.

Anyway, when I first receive that newsletter headed “Plastic shoes”, I thought my gosh, what on earth are they going to show me? Meanwhile, as I am not allowed to buy any pair of shoes this month and probably for the next 6 months, I thought a newsletter aiming at disgust me with plastic shoes is not bad, until I had clear look and realised, it was about plastic shoes, yes but plastic shoes that have style.

plastic shoes, yes but plastic shoes that have style.

Do not like all of them but wouldn’t mind the Louboutin ones, especially for the unreliable weather in London.

Looks like designers are converting me into plastic shoes!
